Position Overview
Grey Matters Defense Solutions, LLC seeks a Senior IT Systems Administrator to lead our classified and unclassified network infrastructure serving defense contracting operations. This role requires deep expertise in government cloud environments, security compliance frameworks, and enterprise systems architecture.

Technical Skills:
  • Expert-level Microsoft 365 GCC High administration, architecture, and governance
  • Advanced Windows Server and enterprise desktop administration
  • CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) Level 2+ compliance implementation and program management
  • Enterprise network architecture and administration including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewall management, and security segmentation
  • Active Directory and Group Policy design and implementation
  • Security baseline development, implementation, and continuous monitoring
Experience:
  • 10+ years in IT systems administration with increasing responsibility
  • 5+ years in defense contracting or government environments
  • Proven experience leading DoD compliance frameworks (NIST 800-171, DFARS, CMMC)
  • Track record managing complex security controls and successful compliance audits
  • Experience developing and maintaining System Security Plans (SSPs) and other compliance documentation
Clearance & Compliance:
  • Active clearance or ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI
  • U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Linux system administration and architecture (Red Hat/CentOS/Ubuntu)
  • AWS cloud infrastructure design and administration
  • SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility) networking, accreditation, and operations
  • Extensive experience with classified network environments and cross-domain solutions
  • Professional certifications (Security+, CISSP, CCSP, MCSE, CCNP)
  • GitLab CI/CD pipeline administration and DevSecOps practices
  • Experience with MSSP vendor management and service integration
Responsibilities
  • Lead Microsoft 365 GCC High environment architecture, administration, and optimization
  • Drive CMMC Level 2 compliance program including assessment readiness and continuous improvement
  • Architect and manage Windows server infrastructure and enterprise services
  • Design and maintain secure network architecture across classified and unclassified environments
  • Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and technical standards
  • Lead incident response, security monitoring, and vulnerability management programs
  • Manage vendor relationships and evaluate technology solutions
  • Plan and execute infrastructure projects and technology roadmap initiatives
  • Support strategic IT planning and budget development
  • Manage IT asset inventory and lifecycle including laptops, workstations, peripherals, and network equipment
  • Perform physical installation and configuration of hardware systems and network infrastructure​​
     

Salary Range: $105,000 - $175,000 + 25% Employer funded SEP IRA distributed monthly
